I received a new Catalyst 3560-CX Series switch. I attempted to upgrade the switch by copying a new image from a USB flash drive directly onto the switch. A successful process that I've done with 2960X series switches. The process failed and now the original image on the unit is corrupted. I cannot boot the unit. I am only able to get to the "switch:" prompt. I have copied a new image to the unit using the xmodem protocol. The error message now is, "Image failed digital signature verification".
If you were able to copy the IOS across USB then you should also be able to boot the IOS from the USB (intead of transferring the IOS via the "old school" method of XModem).
