Hello All,
We have this new vlan created in one of our switches. However when checking the stp state for this vlan , it shows:-
"Spanning tree instance(s) for vlan does not exist"
To note, this vlan is created only on this one switch as of now. There is a single port and few trunk ports that host this new vlan.
On the trunk ports, i can see this vlan is listed under "Vlans Err-disabled on Trunk"
I have shutdown the port for the moment.
vlan101
name KPL_GEM
int eth1/5
description KPL_GEM-host1
shutdown
switchport access vlan 101
spanning-tree port type edge
spanning-tree guard root
sh vlan outputs shows this vlan as being existing in the switch
sh vlan id 101
VLAN Name Status Ports
---- -------------------------------- --------- -------------------------------
101 KPL_GEM active Po21, Po11, Eth1/5
Appreciate all inputs as to what could be wrong and how to fix this.

Suman,
Whats the model of the switch?
What happens when you only have the access port up in the vlan does the STP instance become active?

this is a nexus 9396 switch. Even when the port is up , it shows the same.
