SRE Module Drives

Does anyone know if there is a way to use third party drives with there Service Ready Engine Modules for Cisco Routers?

I have been getting an error when trying to install applications on an SRE with a non cisco drive in it...

Nope and TAC won't support any issues you have plus there is a strong chance you've just voided your warranty.

This is a junk yard special so I'm not worried about that.  My hope is to get Unity Express running for the certification track I'm working on.  I find it hard to believe the SRE cannot be tricked into using these drives since they are OEMed from another vendor anyway.  If anyone else has any thoughts I would love to hear them...
