I have obtained a realtime IOS from my cisco 3750 switch via copy flash: tftp:
c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-35.SE5.bin
It is copied to tftp server
Now i have tried to run it on GNS3 by clicking "Preferences" and then creating new IOS image, but it gives error for "not a valid IOS image" .
any suggestion or solution??

Hi
That's for a 3750 model not a 3550 that will not work , you need to download images specific to the platform c3550

You can as well bridge a real network to gns3 easily enough using virtual adapters and MS loopbacks and connect to the internet through them as well

If you want full switching in gns3 use an IOU Linux image not IOS , most l2 features work on them
like below
i86bi-linux-l2-adventerprisek9-15.1a.bin
