SSH ISSUE

if I am connected to LAN with IP 10.x.x.x.x

I have a switch configure with management IP 126.x.x.x. 

will I need to VPN in on to the 126 network in order to connect to the switch via ssh ?

Your switch and you are connected locally? If the answer is yes you would reach de switch if you have a layer 3 equipment that knows both segments, in your switch you need to configure "ip default-gateway x.x.x.x" where is the ip address of the default route of the segment
