I have a lab with Packet Tracer, I created just a simple topology to test an issue I'm having. In my packet tracer, you'll see a WLC, and an LAP. Two VLANS: 10, and 20. Simple IP networks for each. The laptop cannot see the SSID. If you swap the LAP with a PT-AP, then it can see the SSID. Is this a bug in Packet Tracer, or is this a config issue? In the image below, you can see the LAP has the SSID being broadcasted. Also see attached for the PKT.

Hi @Raid3n,
If you can perform the following steps and let me know how it goes:
Kindly let us know how you get on and if there's any further questions.

Update: When I manually put in the SSID and PSK in the config of the host - connectivity works. The SSID however is still not discovered in the Wireless Adapter GUI configuration screen. I suspect this part is a bug.

I modified this, but it did not fix the issue. The SSID is still not showing on the wireless adapter.

Hi @Raid3n,
That's weird. I've downloaded your PT file and cannot see the SSID either. As soon as I go and apply those config steps the SSID starts appearing for me. I did not touch anything else aside from the steps mentioned though. Can I ask what version of PT are you running?

I was on 8.2.2 (latest stable), and then after noticing the issue, upgraded to 9.0.0 (Beta), issue still persisted. What's odd, is that the PT-AP doesn't have the same issue. I do notice that the "grid" in the wireless adapter screen, when searching for SSID's does disappear after I click "refresh". I'll have to try this on another system to ensure it's not OS related.

hi, can you plz share the login and password of WLC to browse the settings and try to resolve your issue.

Hi Daud, you should be able to get in with the default username 'admin' and password 'admin'. In PT you can't remove the default account but can set up additional users, etc.
@Raid3n I suppose the PT-AP, with it being an autonomous and not a lightweight AP, is a good indicator that it's not an issue with the laptop if the SSID is showing when using that one. The 3702i seems to experience the same behaviour as the LAP-PT and works when applying the same fix for me. This is what happens for me:

so its resolve.
grt job!!!!
