I have two 2960 X switches that were un-stacked from a group of 3.  I'm trying to re-stack the 2 2960x but they will not see each other.  How or is there a way to delete the stack database so I can stack the 2960x switches as new?

On the two switches you want to stack, cable them up, erase the config on each and reload them.

Thanks.  I deleted flash:config.text and vlan.dat  and a boot. still no joy.

Try 'write erase' on each, then reload.

do you mean wr erase on the files directly or where?

As said before simply using write erase and then reload is the simplest method. 

Make sure to not save when prompted.
