I'm having a strange issue with access to a server. Anyway to cut a long story short I've noticed there is a static NAT statement on my router but no inside or outside statements on any interfaces.
Without those statements could it cause a problem?

Yes, the NAT statement will not be used if it is not defined which interfaces are the inside and the outside ones.
What are the strange issues you mention?
