Hi Team,

New switch CISCO3750 is going to be replaced with old switch(same model cisco 3750).

What are the steps to be followed?

is that copy the back up from old switch enough?

or any priority change need?

vtp & ssh password need to be configured or it can enable from the back up file?

Better please let me know what are things to be followed and taking care?

Thanks

Alex

You want nice and simple or you want "by the book"?

Nice and simple method

1.  Connect the new switch to the stack.

2.  Remove the old switch.

3.  [Optional]  Renumber the new switch.

By the book method.

1.  Copy the config.

2.  Copy the config into the new switch.

3.  Swap out the old switch.

Hi Leo

All login will be created?

What login?

First method, the config is automatically copied from the existing stack to the new member of the stack.

Second method, if done right, the config is copied into the new switch.

I am asking about vty and SSH login will be created as existing one?

did we need to change the priority value?

because I am going to connect in the LAN environment which is having 9 cisco 3750 switches

Thanks

The entire config is copied.  No need to create a special SSH/telnet login.

Having a stack of 7 and more 3750/G/E/X is not healthy.

we are using cisco 3750 as a access switch not in stack
