Hello Folks,
We are trying to configure some ports on nexus 9000 series switches.
during that, an error came up on a shut or unused port.
(config-if)# spanning-tree guard root
ERROR: Error: [invalid argument to function call]
int eth1/11
des test
shutdown
switch access vla 101
spanning-tree port type edge
speed 10000
mtu 9216
channel-group 101 mode active
int po101
des test-1/2
switch access vlan 101
spanning-tree port type edge
spanning-tree guard root
speed 10000
mtu 9216
vpc 101
Appreciate inputs about why the error is coming and what should be done for this to be proper.

It appears there might be a bug in the firmware (4.1), reference the bug below.

Why don't you try the fix and see if it allows the addition of the command.
if it still fails we can look into other solutions.
