Dear friends,
We have layer-2 6500-CATOS switches which are connected to one layer-3 6500-IOS switch via
port-channel consist of 4x1G interfaces from each switch, and each switch contains three
vlans. We want to have same vlan number across all layer-2 switches without VTP and want to create
sub-interfaces on layer-3 switch under the respective port-channel interface (same like router on a stick), but were unable to do it.
Now need your help to create sub-interfaces. Always getting this error 'Command rejected: VLAN 308 not available' but vlan exist. see below confiugration of my layer-3 switch.
EOB2EUDS#config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

Its been resolved by deleting layer-2 vlan database from the switch then i managed to create sub-interfaces means point-to-point same as juniper router, this solution will eliminate spanning the same vlans(VTP) across switch network as well layer-2 loop problem.
We got this idea from juniper router. thanks.
