Supervisor 7-E 7L-E port numbering

Hello,

Does anyone know how the port numbering would be on Sup 7-E and Sup 7L-E? I mean, on Sup-6E and Sup-6LE, if I used a twin-gig converter, I used ports gi3/3,gi3/4,gi3/5 and Gi3/6 [If the sup is in 3rd Slot]. I know there are now 4 ports on the Sup 7 which can either be used as Gig ports or TenGig ports. So, how will the port numbering change ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Rama

Rama,

From my experience on Sup-7E, if you use a one-gig transceiver in the supervisor, the port numbering stays the same.  Kind of confusing but at least it's consistent!  Example below:

Switch>show inter status mod 5

Port      Name               Status       Vlan       Duplex  Speed Type

Te5/1                        connected    trunk        full    10G 10GBase-SR

Te5/2                        connected    trunk        full a-1000 1000BaseSX

Te5/3                        inactive     1            full   auto No XCVR

Te5/4                        inactive     1            full   auto No XCVR
