Switch connectivity

We are setting up a brand new network. We have a 3850 as our core switch, and then 4 other edge switches (2960X). The edge switches are connected to the core 3850 switch via 10g fiber. I have vlans setup for various segments. The network mgmt vlan is 10. I have this configured on the core switch with an ip, and also on our edge switches with an ip. I cannot ping from the core switch to any edge switches. I know the vlan 10 is up and running. When I do a sho cdp neighbor on the core switch, I do see all the edge switches. I also have a few other devices plugged into the edge switches but cannot ping these devices either. Help!

Hello,

You need check the next steps:

1- The vlan 10 is created.

2- The vlan 10 is asignated to minimun one port in each switch

3- In all switches vlan 10 isn't native vlan

4- All ports between switches are trunks(with vlan 10 permit) or are in access mode(with these port in vlan 10 in each router)

5- default gateway is correctly configure in all switches.

Please check this steps and tell us your results.

Are the inter switch link interfaces defined as trunks?

For whatever reason, the vlans on the core switch were not created even though I see them listed in the running config. After creating them, all is good.
