Hi All,

im getting the error " LINECARDMUXBUFFERTOSUPALIGNMENTWRONG " in my cisco 4500 switch. This error is pointing to my 6th slot which is WS-X4648-RJ45V+E (10/100/1000BaseT Premium POE E Series). I tried resetting the module and rebooting the switch itself.. I have not tried swapping in any other slots of the switch due to downtime issue.. Can anyone suggest me what could be the problem

%C4K_CHASSIS-3-LINECARDMUXBUFFERTOSUPALIGNMENTWRONG: Linecard 6 MuxBuffers aligned towards supervisor in slot 4 instea

d of 3 %C4K_CHASSIS-3-LINECARDMUXBUFFERTOSUPALIGNMENTWRONG: Linecard 6 MuxBuffers aligned towards supervisor in slot 4 instea
d of 3.

Hi,

The Error message is noted in this document

since you have already reinsert and rebooted the line card and the system.  Next is to put that module to another slot and if that does not solve the issue then open a ticket with TAC.

Hi,

I know about this document, can anyone from your team suggest is it really a h/w problem (module) ?? or any other solution or troubleshooting can be done..!! Opening a Tac is far away...

Have your tried switchover if it's redundancy system?

Hi,

Would you like to switch to secondary supervisor ?? If yes, i have not done it.. I have just rebooted the entire switch yesterday.

From my research, I can see that if the reseat/reset should stop this error
message. However, this error message keeps reappearing again, it
normally indicates a hardware issue.

The Action Plan would be to replace the module in slot 6 with another module
and also place the module in slot 6 in the same chassis and check if these
error messages get popped up again.

Hope that helps.
