Switch "priority-queue out" queue 1 or 4?

Hi All,

I'm implementing some QoS on a switch port of an older Catalyst 2960 using DSCP and I was hoping someone could clarify something for me.

Depending on what documentation I read, the queue that "priority-queue out" actually prioritizes is either queue #4 or queue #1. For example, the 2960 QoS documentation suggests queue #1, but the Catalyst 3550 documentation (also IOS, of course) suggests #4. 

I'm assuming I can just go with the 2960 documentation as this is the platform i'm implementing on but I'm wondering why the difference?

Also, can anyone suggest any means of actually verifying that queue #1 is being emptied first?
