Switchport in Errdisable

Switchport in errdisable between xxxxxxxsw1 and xxxxxxxsw5 -

The ports related to the interlink between both switches were in errordisable
This issue occurred at least 2 times after the "shut" and "no shut" of these ports currently the ports are in not connected state.

we had some spare SFP and after we taken out of err-disable the port we tried replacing the SFP on both sides (xxxxxxSW1 and xxxxxxSW5). the show inventory on xxxxxxSW5 shows a different serial number when changing the SFP but on xxxxxxSW1 the switch is not showing anything on port gi0/24 with any of the 3 SFP we had available.

As i am not that familiarized with the specific model can someone give me an idea on why this is happening? could it be a broken switch port and we would have to reconsider the replacement of the switch?

hey Paul thanks for the reply.

I have indeed asked for that to get an idea of what is happening but i only got certain logs.

Have commented from the beggining that i need that command to be executed to see whats going on but....

markmalone2008  yes i m also thinking about the software over hardware
