Should the following command (switchport nonegotiate) be placed on an interface that is in access mode or trunk mode?

The switchport nonegotiate command is used to stop the port from sending DTP messages (Dynamic Trunk Port).... if you have an access port that you dont want ti turn into a trunk ....

Hi there,
static access or the more familiar:
int fa0/1
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan vlan_number
no shut
end
!
is the last state of the DTP negotiation. When all the DTP negotiations to be a trunk fail, then you fall back in the static access mode where just one vlan can cross the link. For the use itself of the command read George above
If you are working on HA environments use this command!!!
