Hi Their,
I'm relative new in the Cisco world.I'm studying for the CCent.I'have the following questions:
1) When I want to telnet into one of my switches or router, I get the following message: "Connection to 10.10.1.2 closed by foreign host". Why do I get this message and what can I do to fix it?
2) A cabling issue. Is it possible to convert V35 interface to X21 by only using the pinouts? In other words M34 Winchester male (DTE) connector to DB-15 male (DCE) connector. If possible, where can I find these pinouts? If not possible, where can I find the pinouts to convert M34 to DB-24, in other words V24 interface, and from V24 to x21?
Thank you
Wimpie

Hi,
Question2 I cannot answer.
Question1 requires more detail. Can you show me your "line vty 0 4" section of the running config. Are you able to ping the device? Is telnet enabled in the running configuration? Why not using SSH ?
Best regards
Philipp

Hi there,
Have you set a password under your VTY lines? By default, you cannot telnet to a switch or router until you have configured a telnet password...
Also can't help with Q2 I'm afraid!
Cheers
Jonathan
