Hi there,
Is it necessary to connect the Cisco IE2000's two DC inputs to the same power supply? In spite of the fact that DC-A and DC-B are not fully redundant, each has its own internal power supply. This would allow DC-A and DC-B to be powered by the same external power supply... It is greatly appreciated that you responded to me. The power supply consists of two separate units. A switch can be powered by one or two sources. In the event that both power sources are active and the higher voltage power source is on, both power sources draw power from each other. During a power outage, the switch remains powered by the other power source. Each power supply should be connected to an independent power source in redundant power systems. Failing to do this might result in a total power outage due to an electrical fault in the wiring or a circuit breaker trip.
