THRESHOLD_VIOLATION error message in 6500.

Hi All,

I am getting the error message in 6500 switch. the details are given below:-

switch Gbic is using 1000-CWDM-1470.

Mar 13 13:34:18: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/14: Tx power high warning; Operating value:   6.5 dBm, Threshold value:   4.9 dBm.
Mar 13 13:34:18: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/14: Rx power high alarm; Operating value:  -2.0 dBm, Threshold value:  -3.0 dBm.
Mar 13 13:44:18: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/14: Tx power high warning; Operating value:   6.5 dBm, Threshold value:   4.9 dBm.
Mar 13 13:44:18: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/14: Rx power high alarm; Operating value:  -2.0 dBm, Threshold value:  -3.0 dBm.
Mar 13 13:49:29: %UDLD-4-UDLD_PORT_DISABLED: UDLD disabled interface Gi1/14, unidirectional link detected

Kindly send me some explanation abt this error message..

Hi Sub,

It seems that there is a problem with Gbic port Gi1/14.  Start with replacing the Gbic and see if the problem goes away.

Error Message    SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: [char]: [char]; 
Operating value: [char]

Explanation   This message indicates that there has been a threshold violation as specified in the message.

Recommended Action   Contact your technical support representative.
