hello!
I have a PC that connected to port gi2/2 (6500 switch).
I want to identify the mac of this PC.
I do "show mac-address table interface gig2/2".
I didn't find anything, because the PC didn't initiate contact.
How can I find the mac of this PC?
thanks.

is the computer on? Or just plugged in? I would just enable port-security Mac-address sticky and turn on the computer. That way you don't have to go thru the Mac address table on the 6500. The mac address will pop up on that interface in the show run interface command U can disable the port security afterwards if u don't need it.

Hi,
You can check the mac-address using the ip address.
++ Go to the switch where the interface vlan is created for this vlan.
++ Issue show ip arp
Hope this helps.
Cheers
