Hello,
I have 2 Cat-6506's that are used for my WiSM's. The only thing in both Chassis is 2 X WiSMs a SUP-7203A and a 6516A line card.
The only connection between the rest of the network and these chassis is on port gig 1/2.
This is the sh int gig 1/2 for that interface:
CISCO-6506#sh int gig 1/2
GigabitEthernet1/2 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is C6k 1000Mb 802.3, address is 000d.28cb.3bd9 (bia 000d.28cb.3bd9)
Description: (s-12508 Bldg 15)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 109/255, rxload 41/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
Keepalive set (10 sec)
Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, media type is SX
input flow-control is off, output flow-control is off
Clock mode is auto
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
Last input 00:00:01, output never, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 00:53:34
Input queue: 0/2000/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 7929413
Queueing strategy: fifo

Notice that I cleared the Interface Counters 53Min ago and the Total Output drops is already at 7,929,413 and climbing.
This is the result from the show counters int gig 1/2

So the questions is what can I do to resolve this issue? If I have read other posts correctly all points to the ASIC being overun by that traffic being sent from my WiSMs out to the Network.

Can you run and post a "show interface gig 1/2 capabilities" on the 6500 end and run the same command for the respective interface on the directly connected device? The QoS scheduling settings must be the same on both devices.
Also what is your gig1/2 on? the 6516 LC?
