I'm trying to do a traceroute mac ip to see the layer 2 hops thru the network..
both switches are identical configuration other than management vlan ip address.
2950 Enhanced running 12.1.22(ea1)
management vlan is vlan 130.. yet I'm getting this response.
switch1#traceroute mac ip 172.25.16.5 172.25.16.6 detail
Source and Destination arped on different vlans (source on vlan 0 and destination on vlan 130).
Layer2 trace aborted.
what the heck is vlan 0?
doesn't matter if you flip source and destination or switch to a switch that is further away..
any ideas? am I missing a parameter?
