Coul you please help me understanding how can i measure the IP traffic ( percentage of bandwidth used istantaneusly/avarage/....)on an interface? For example a Fast Ethernet interface on a 6509 with IOS. Thanks, Simone
For a 5 minute average you can do a "show interface ". For real-time and for a readable 5 minute average I would suggest using SNMP. You'll get actual BW instead of bits/sec and you won't have to do the conversion. Solarwinds Engineer Ed. toolset has all the tools to monitor interfaces in real time and across a determined time period along with a bunch of other very useful apps.
