How Twinax Cable works in corporate networking .

Hi
this is very generic question with many answers , as one example twinax are a lot cheaper than fibre cables and can be used to connect fex switches to parent 5ks and 7ks in a data centre setup rather than using expensive fibre everywhere to reduce costs , this is important if you have large dc setups , they are also used in ToR solutions with servers to switch connections
They are limited in distance though compared to fibre currently

You should be able to get a 10g module for that switch and use twinax at 10gb with correct software as below

Hi Mark ,
10 G module will be having 8 ports . But I need atleast 20 ports from my 3850 switch .
As this switch having 48 ports . I wanted to connect out of that 48 ports. 10 G module will be for uplink .
Any other option ?

Hi
are you saying you need 20x10gb ports off a 48 port 1gb port switch ?
