Typed wrong register value on Cisco 1700

Hi,

When i was doing password reset on Cisco 1700 router i typed the wrong register value in rommon. So instead of 0x2102 i typed 0x2120. Now when i try to acces the router through console i see strange signs appear and i cannot do anything with the router. The ctrl+break or ctrl+shift+x sequence doesn't work.

How can i correct the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Janez

Hi,

the confreg value you entered does this( taken from Boson config-register calculator):

NVRAM config will be used
Break key Disabled, after IOS load

Console Baud: 19200

Will Stay at the system bootstrap prompt (ROM monitor) on a reload or power cycle.

So change speed to 19200 on terminal emulator then change config-register back to 0X2102

Regards.

Alain.
