Unable to create a sub interface in 4510R+E switch

Hello,

I'm trying to create a sub-interface in cisco 4510R+E but it's throwing an error as (% Invalid input detected at '^' marker), the chassis is running with redundant SUP8-E.

IOS Version: cat4500es8-universalk9.SPA.03.06.04.E.152-2.E4

Please help us to identify the root cause & fix for this.

I don't think you can creat subinterfaces on the 4500

try using a vlan with SVI instead.

I agree with Reza that 4500 does not support subinterfaces. If the original poster will tell what he is trying to accomplish perhaps we might be able to suggest a solution.
