Hi to all,
I am trying to configuring cisco catalyst switch 3850, everything is fine except encapsulation dot1q. when i tried to configure encapsulation no command available to proceed further to config dot1q. any one can advise me is that command available for C3850 interfaces?
AASA-CSW1A(config)#interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1
AASA-CSW1A(config-if)#description "T1-CSW1A"
AASA-CSW1A(config-if)#switchport trunk ?
allowed Set allowed VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
native Set trunking native characteristics when interface is in trunking
mode
pruning Set pruning VLAN characteristics when interface is in trunking mode
AASA-CSW1A(config-if)#switchport trunk allowed vlan 66,88,101-103,110-112
AASA-CSW1A(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
AASA-CSW1A(config-if)#switchport nonegotiate

This command is only available if the switch platform supports both .1q and the Cisco proprietary ISL. If this command is not there, the switch defaults to .1q.

if you want to confirm what Karsten has suggested you can use the commands show interface gx/x switchport it will show you its dot1q , isl has been removed from newer platforms , look under administrative trunking in the output
