After copying the new iOS from the usb drive I get the following message when I run the bot system cmd.

"File system with suffix not allowed"

any thoughts on getting this command to work.

also the current iOS is a .pkg while the upgrade is a .bin. not sure that if it matters.

thanks,

joe

I am not clear what you were entering in the boot command and so am not sure what the error message referred to. Hopefully the link suggested by Reza was helpful. If you are still having problems please provide the exact syntax of the command that you entered.

When the boot file is pkg it provides a GUI for managing the switch. The upgrade using the bin file is update for the operating system but does not include the GUI.

Aside from what @Richard Burts comment, I would also like to add this:  What is the current firmware of the switch?  Install Mode commands for 3.X.X and 16.X.X are different.

What exact platform is this?  Is this really a 3650 or a 3560?

Dump the console output when doing the IOS upgrade so we can determine WHAT went wrong.
