OK so I am following the steps that i got from off the CISCO site on upgrading the IOS, when i get the the part where if says to:
redundancy reload peer
so after i do that i go to the standby supervisor and i see that it is in a continuous reboot loop.
I stop the loop and i reload the sup to the original IOS cat4000-i9s.........
SO i look at the logs and this is what i see:
Aug 12 22:21:01.251: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-6-INIT: STANDBY:Initializing as STANDBY Supervisor
*Aug 12 22:21:03.259: %CHKPT-3-IPCSESSION: STANDBY:Unable to open an IPC session with STANDBY
*Aug 12 22:21:04.271: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-2-IOS_VERSION_CHECK_FAIL: STANDBY:IOS version mismatch. Active supervisor version is 12.1(19)EW1 (cat4000-I9S-M). Standby supervisor version is 15.0(2)SG6 (cat4500-IPBASEK9-M). Redundancy feature may not work as expected.
*Aug 12 22:21:04.271: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-2-NON_SYMMETRICAL_REDUNDANT_SYSTEM: STANDBY:STANDBY supervisor will operate in fallback redundancy mode rpr.
*Aug 12 22:21:07.263: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-6-DUPLEX_MODE: STANDBY:The peer Supervisor has been detected
*Aug 12 22:21:07.271: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-3-COMMUNICATION: STANDBY:Communication with the peer Supervisor has been established
*Aug 12 22:21:10.271: %C4K_REDUNDANCY-6-MODE: STANDBY:STANDBY supervisor initializing for rpr-plus mode
*Aug 12 22:21:22.743: %C4K_CHASSIS-3-UNKNOWNLINECARD: STANDBY:Unknown module (Field Replaceable Unit minor type 0) in slot 1
*Aug 12 22:21:22.999: %SPANTREE-5-EXTENDED_SYSID: STANDBY:Extended SysId enabled for type vlan
so what am i doing wrong??
do i need to go to a 12.2 version before i go to the 15.0 version?
system is running redondancy mmode RDP

You loaded the 15.0 IOS to the standby supervisor card without doing tht same to the primary card. Eject the standby card, upgrade the IOS on the primary card (from 12.1 to 15.0), reload that card and insert the secondary card.

I have the 15.0 IOS on both the primary and secondary card. I do have the Old IOS on the flash as well, but i have the
boot system flash bootflash pointing to the 15.0 IOS
Am i supposed to do a Redundancy switch-over right after i do the Redundancy reload peer?

Well the card is trying to boot the old IOS. Try to remove the old IOS and try again. I never use those commands myself. I just make sure I boot both cards into the right IOS and change the bootstring.
