UPS sizing for 3850

Hi,

never done this before...I need to order a UPS for a 48 port, 3750X PoE switch. The switch has 2, 750Watt power supplies.

Of course, one of the power supplies is redundant so, I only need enough to power to keep the switch and all of it's phones running for 1 hour. Could you tell me what would be an appropriate size for a 48 port, 3750X PoE switch for 1 hour?

Thank you

Actually, depending on your PoE usage, and PoE variant, 750W may not actually be "redundant".

You could size your power based on providing 750W for an hour, your 1500W for an hour, or you usually power usage (examine something like show power inline).

I believe 1, 715 will cover our VoIP phones and 2, 37021 APs. Most phones will only be drawing 3.8 watts.

So, to size a CPU for 715 watts for one hour...what size UPS should I be looking at. Or, better yet, when I go to size out a UPS what am I looking for as far as numbers?

Thank you

A UPS, then, that can supply 700 W, for an hour.  UPS vendor literature should be able to describe.

For example, in APC literature, you would be looking at about a 5000VA UPS, possible one with extended battery capacity.
