use different SFP types at same switch

I have a question about Fiber SFPs, SFPs have many different types ( Singlemode, multimode, LC, SC, .... ), so I asked if I can use different types of SFP at the same switch

as example, can I use say LC SFP at one port, and at same switch use SC SFP for other port

As long as both ends are of the same wavelength.

Yes Leo this is what I mean .... so no rule to make me use the same SFPs type at all switch .... each port use SFP type depend on the other side of this port ... so maybe one port use Singlemode LC and the other port at same switch use multimode SC without any problem, this is you mean, right?

No, this is not going to work.

Both ends must be on the same wavelength, i.  e.  SM and SM or MM and MM.

Yes you can.

(BTW, what I believe Leo has in mind, the two sides of a fiber link, need compatible transceivers. But on the same switch, you can use whatever SFP, in whatever SFP ports, the switch supports. [NB: not all switches support transceivers of the same type, for example, there might be some SFP transceivers that will not work in any of the switch's SFP ports. Further, non-Cisco SFPs can be hit or miss whether they work, and the switch might require a "hidden" command to allow any of them to, perhaps, work at all.] This is much, in concept, like you can mix 10, 100 or gig copper Ethernet on a switch's triple speed Ethernet ports, each might have different cat grade cable in them too although suitable for the "speed" being used.)
