Dear frinds.

i have got couple of questions

1. i want to configure a support user and want to give him  rights to view the configuration and also to monitor through web/ device manager. what  all things i need to do. Authentication is local. No changes allowed  frmo support team. mainly for monitoring purpose. can some one also  share some doc wher in i get the level priv information so it can also  help me in future.

i should give which level to support user so he can only fall in above group

2. and 3750 is layer 2 or 3 how to identify if a switch is l2 or l3. by looking model numbe or some ideantification ..or we need to check the cisco.com always

Hi,

++ I dont see any other option apart from AAA in restricting the user rights, since we can specify the privilege levels in aaa.

++ For any cisco switches inorder to check the features supported i would suggest to refer the data sheet of the product as a best practice.

But i would check by creating an SVI or by enabling ip routing to confirm whether it supports L3 function or not

Hope this

Cheers

Somu
