Hey all
Was wondering if anyone could share their experiences using an ASR920 to terminate ipv4 customers (up to 1500).
Customers are delivered with single or double vlan tags with a unique vlan per customer.
Termination will either be PPPoE or a /30 on a sub interface.
What i'm not sure about is how this unit will scale.
The PoP will be located in a telco space where the racks are only 400 deep, so unable to use something like an asr1k.
We were originally were looking at using the ASR920's to PW the access tails up to another router, so all they would be doing is a bunch of L2 VPNs but then saw they had some PPPoE server functionality.
Any feedback would be appreciated (including "your crazy man dont do it")
Thanks!

This is outside of my normal area of work.
I believe the ASR920 supports PPPoE IA (where you pass the connection onto another router), and will not scale well as an actual PPPoE server. I believe the PPPoE server support has several limitations (such as no multilink PPPoE).

Thanks!
I guess I was feeling a bit optimistic about what it can and can't do.
Cheers
