Using the cisco RV180W without WAN connection

Hi Community

I have to setup a sandbox environment for one of our customers to test the following and would like recommendations/opinions as I am looking to use a Cisco RV180W without WAN connection. 

The network will be self contained as mentioned with static IP addresses only

There will be a NAS server on the network for archive and reports (Synology or QNAP)

User's will be investigation malware and virus components

WiFi may also be used for testing purposes as well

There will be a maximum of 8 user's connecting via a Cisco SG-300-10

I would like to know if there will be any shortfall or disadvantages using the RV180W and SG-300-10 or if you think this is the incorrect hardware choice. Just to point out I usually work with/administer the higher end L2 and L3 hardware so have not had any exposure to the lower end components offered by Cisco.

Hi LB,

I have never used this type of switch,  so if I say something that doesn't make scene please ignore.

Looking at the datasheet, Cisco SG-300-10 does not support POE. So, connecting APs for WiFi maybe an issue, however SG300-10PP does support POE+ with 62W power supply. You may also want to look at SG300-10MP in case you need more power for the APs.

There will be a maximum of 8 user's connecting via a Cisco SG-300-10

This is a 8 port switch and if you have 8 users connecting to it, you may not have room for other devices, i.e printers, APs, etc..So, I recommend using a 24 port just in case you need more ports.
