How do you view the default switching method for 3550?
ie, Cut-through, Fragment-Free, or Store and Forward
There was a command lower end switch IOS "show port system". Does this work for 3550?
Also, how do you change the switching method?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
If you view this : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3550/software/release/12.1_13_ea1/configuration/guide/swadmin.html
you can find that: " The switch always uses the store-and-forward method".
I hope this helps.
Best regards.
Massimiliano.

Hi,
As a matter of fact, all the current Cisco switches use store-and-forward (the complete data frame is received on the switch's buffer, a CRC is run, and if the CRC passes, the switch looks up the destination address in the MAC filter table), while cut-through and fragment free were historical technologies.
