Hi All,
I have a question in relation to Vlan renaming.
So, we have Vlan 100 on various switches across the network as given:-
Vlan 100
name Vlan100
Now, we want the name for this vlan ( not the id ) changed to a proper name. eg name App_clusters.
Note, there is no VTP running on any switches.
- will changing the vlan name affect any vlan communications happening at the time? (disruptive or non-disruptive)
- Can we just change the name for this vlan on couple of the switches for now & leave the change on rest of switches for later time?
Appreciate all help!

No, there should be no connectivity impact.

Yes, you can. The VLAN name does not need to match between switches, except for some specific scenarios you're probably not using anyway (such as dynamic VLAN assignment to clients based on their MAC address or authentication information).
Best regards,
Peter
