I have a question that I figured I would pose to the forum... I am trying to use VLAN mapping and VLAN filtering on a 6509 applied to a VLAN. On the VLAN map I am referring to an ACL that I created. This ACL uses numerous lines permiting and denying TCP anf UDP ports for certain IPs. However from all documentation it this topic it shows examples permiting or denying IP addresses and not ports or applications. When I actually applied the VLAN filter to the VLAN it did not work for me... So the question I have is can I apply an ACL onto the VLAN map with that ACL filtering TCP and UDP ports or do I have to be restricted to just filtering the IP address. Possibly because this is a layer 2 filter that the switch cannot decypher the ACL for the TCP and UDP ports.. Am I correct in my thinking.. Thanks for any help on this...
