Hello
I`ve been doing some labs using Boson NETSIM.
I`m studying for a ccna exam and I have a problem with vlans using several switches.
There is a scenario:
Router on a stick with one Switch [SW1] + 3 switches connected to that main switch + 3 VLANS.
You can see detailed topology on the nice piece of jpg ART i attached
now the Questions:
what is the correct setting for a SW1`s ports that connect to other switches?
should they be assigned to VLAN 1 [as trunk] or Vlan 10 - switch [vlan10 as access], ...etc?
How should VTP be set up on those switches?
My hair got gray after an hour of thinking, and I would be gratefull for any help.
Thank You Very Much

Hi,
if you want to use VTP then your only choice is to connect all switches with trunk ports.
ypu can then manually prune the VLANs on each port with the switchport trunk allowed vlan command
VTP defaults are : server, no password and domain=NULL
So you can put all switches except sw1 as VTP clients then on the server:sw1 you set a VTP domain name and you create the vlans and they should get propagated to all switches.
Regards.
