VM trunk port errors

I think this may be an easy question.....if I'm trunking a switchport  that is connected to a VM instance, will I see interface errors on that trunk port? (input errors, CRC errors, etc)

Thanks

Hi Brian,

Seeing the input errors or teh CRC errors are not related to the VM instance specifically

CRC and input errors increment when a device recieves corrupt frame from the other end.This is a indication of the physical layer issue ie bad cable or bad port or bad NIC .

Hope that answers your query.

Swati

Swati Dheer;

Thank you for your answer. I think that gets me the information I was looking for. We have a port that has not had counters cleared in 3y50w and there is not 1 input error, not 1 CRC or framing error. While that is good...it seemed odd that there wasn't at least one.

I'm not complaining...just making sure that i am interpreting what I see correctly.

Thanks
