Hi,
I am implementing new VLAN on my business network.
We have 3 site actually at level 2 MPLS, we're moving to level 3 MPLS with different VLAN for Data, Voice, Video.
I can see that there is Voice VLAN on my switch so I am wondering should I use it, or can I just define one VLAN for my telephony.
What's the difference ? What's the best ?
Routing between site is done by my ISP threw the TAG id.
Regards

Then use voice vlan too for your visioconference.

for your Ip phones connected, let the VOICE VLAN configured.
The voice VLAN feature enables access ports to carry IP voice traffic from an IP phone. When the switch is connected to an IP phone, the phone sends voice traffic with layer 3 ip precedence and layer 2 class of service (CoS) values (control, media).
Then, configure VOICE VLAN for Ip phone or whatever video endpoint with their own vlan ID (i.e, vlan 10 name AUDIO, vlan 20 name VIDEO)
=> VOICE VLAN = "mini-trunk" or "an Access port witch can support tagged voice flow" .
For DATA, create an access vlan with its own vlan ID (i.e. vlan 30 name DATA). Mode ACCESS VLAN for that.

Thanks,
Juste to be sure, you told me I must use voice vlan for visioconference too ?
With the SF300, It seems I can only affect one VLAN ID to voice VLAN

The SIP call work but not the video so the call end aumatically after 20seconds.

Please remind me if you are using CME or CUCM in order to register your endpoints?

I am affraid i am not understanding the question... I just enabled auto voice vlan on valn id 20 and put all my tel and visio port to vlan 20...

Where your ip phone or visio endpoint are registered?

I don t think so, don t understand what it is.
But I think my isp have problem migrating my public ip. Normally I don't use it on the lan, but maybe this is Something to do with that.

The main thing is that your endpoints video and audio has got phone number?
They have got configuration file generated from a Call Manager.
You have configured voice vlan, plugged devices but do you have configured something in particular about these devices (ip, mask and other network configuration etc...). ?
