VRF-lite and HSRP

Hello

I have a pair of 6509-E in non-VSS with a etherchannel trunk between them.  I have say a user VLAN and a server VLAN on there and SVIs configured with HSRP so active router is on one 6509-E with the other as standby.  I am in a situation now that the server VLAN now contains two different client resources and for security reasons they need to be completely independent (different default route to the internet, own set of resources, etc).  What I'm thinking is configuring VRF-lite on the 6509's so each Client gets its own routing table and they both have access to the internet (I will configure my ASA with separate security contexts and each VRF default routes to one of these).  Does this work?  How does this setup impact HSRP in any way if I want to maintain 6509 redundancy?

Hi,

The design should work fine.  Create your VRFs, add the interfaces to the VRFs and run HSRP.  It is done the same way you do it in global.
