Hello,
I need to know if the WS-C6509-V-E chassis with VS-S720-10G-3C supervisor is compatible with the following linecards
WS-X6148-GE-45AF
WS-X6148A-GE-45AF
WS-X6748-GE-TX with WS-F6700-DFC3B
WS-X6748-GE-TX with WS-F6700-DFC3A
It's difficult to find this information. I know all these cards are compatible with the chassis. It is just the cross compatibility between the linecards and the supervisor that I cannot seem to find anywhere on Cisco.com.
Thank you.

Hi,
The first 2 cards are POE. POE cards are not comparable with VSS.
As for the 3rd and 4th card. You need cards with 3C or 3C-XL.
see table-1 in this link:

So the 6148's will work without VSS? If so, is it ok to mix these cards with cards that are 3C within the same chassis or will a single 6148 being present act to limit VSS functionality on the entire chassis?
Thanks!

Correct, if none VSS, 6148 will work. If you enable VSS and inset the 6148 card into the chassis, the line card will not go on line. It doesn't effect the entire functionality of VSS. Just the card does not work.

Thanks again. I have one final question. So the 6748's will power on as well if VSS is disabled? Can the daugher board on the WS-X6748-GE-TX be upgraded from the 3A or 3B to WS-F6700-DFC3C or is it necessary to purchase new linecards?
