Hi expert,
I would setup a small network with two cisco 6509 to form an virtual switch system (VSS). the NIC of servers are configured as teaming. Is it require the HSRP feature on 6509 for "virtual" gateway?
If the HSRP is not config, what happen if one of cisco 6509 is under maint and it was configured the default gateway on it?
regards
anita

Hi
With VSS there is no need for HSRP or VRRP if one device fail and your servers are connected to both switches then the other switch take over as the default gateways
