VSS config question

Hi fellows,

I would like to implement VSS on my Datacenter. I have a 6500 working standalone and I have servers and access switches connected to it. My question is what happen with the configuration of this switch at the moment that I restart it to implement VSS with my brand new 6500.

By example what happen with the config of interfaces in module 3 (G3/1, 3/2 ....etc) when it becomes G1/3/1, 1/3/2...etc. It will keep the config or I have to reconfigure it?

Thanks

Regards

Hi,

In VSS configruation of the both the switches will be merged into single configuration and the interfaces will be perfixed with switch1 / switch 2. For example, the interface 1/5/4 command specifies port 4 of the switching module in slot 5 of switch 1. The interface 2/5/4command specifies port 4 on the switching module in slot 5 of switch 2.

Refer the below link for more information on VSS
