Hi, I am unable to find much information on this for my exact chassis/IOS.
I am considering using VSS on our two new WS-C4510R+E switches, but we are planning to possibly use the built-in wiresless controller on the 4500's in the next year or two, and I had heard that VSS may not be compatible or something to that degree.
With redundant supervisors, I guess this would be a Quad-SUP config.
Is this true?
Thanks.
Hardware/Software Details:

IOS: 03.06.03.E

Hi,
With VSS, wireless mode is not supported:
Note :
● Wireless mode is not supported in virtual switching system (VSS) mode.
● In wireless mode no line card is supported in the 10th slot of the Cisco Catalyst 4510R-E chassis.

Hello,
Agree with Reza, Having VSS with 4500 + SUP 8E wireless mode is not supported.
Have a look on the link which give you step by step approach to enable wireless mode in standalone switch.
Hope it Helps..
