Hi Alexey,

What is the platform specification (IOS, model) for the switch that fail to get VTP update?

Nikolay

HTH,
Niko

Cisco IOS Software, C3750E Software (C3750E-UNIVERSAL-M), Version 12.2(53)SE1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

Hi, Nikolay,

on working part

Cisco IOS Software, C3750E Software (C3750E-UNIVERSAL-M), Version 12.2(35)SE5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Hi;

Looking at the outputs you attached above, the MD5 digest on both the switches doesn't match. So it looks like a VTP password mismatch. So could you double check the VTP passwords on both switches.

Hi Alexey,

I also offer to check the posibility of the following bug

CSCth44403 CBS3120 could not update vtp database correctly

That is affecting all 3k platforms and fix available in 12.2(58)SE

Please run the following commands several times each to see if SUP drop counters growing during VTP advertisments receivement:

show controller ethernet-controller port-asic statistics | inc Sup Queue 4

show buffers | be RxQ4

HTH,

Hi.

I reenter password -  its not helping.

It's began   at same time on several swicthes.

The second fact is - all not working switches have same "not right"  MD5 digest. If i bring one of the NOT working switches to serverv mode, vtp updates on all of notworking switches.

17162 Sup Queue 4 Drop Frames               0 Sup Queue 12 Drop Frames

cat8#show controller ethernet-controller port-asic statistics | inc Sup Queue 4

0 Sup Queue 4 Drop Frames               0 Sup Queue 12 Drop Frames

17163 Sup Queue 4 Drop Frames               0 Sup Queue 12 Drop Frames

cat8#

DROPs encounted  during vtp updates

Thenks, Nikolay,   I think u right.

Will check after changing ISO.

ISO  read like IOS
