What happens when I reset my Catalyst 2950 switch?

I wish to reset my cisco catalyst 2950-24 switch but being very new to this switch and almost a novice in this field, I will like to know what I should be looking out for before and after i reset this switch.

What will be the default IP on this switch after I reset it?

How do I connect with it via network cable (not serial port) and change the IP to conform with my network?

Hi,

By reset u mean to restart this switch..? if yes then just make sure that u save u r config before doing this.

or u want it like a new switch i.e factory defaults thn u can connect the console to switch and from enable more type erase startup-config and reload.

After restarting it the switch will be factory default with no ip etc.u need to have console connection in order to configure it accordingly.
