What Is Layer 2 and Layer 3 Protocols ?

Can anyone give me the examples for Layer 2 and Layer 3 Protocols.

layer 2 = STP, UDLD, CDP, LLDP, ARP, VTP etc. which are all protocols not routed outside a given subnet.

layer 3 = BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, IP etc.

Layer2: Ethernet framing, Token Ring framing, ATM framing, Frame Relay, HDLC, PPP, LAPB, ...

Layer3: IPv4, IPv6, IPX, AppleTalk, ...
