What's the command "PLATFORM" doing?

Hi ALL !!!

I have some proplems with "High CPU Utilization" on the Cisco ME-3400-12.

And I heard the command "platform" can change behavior of switch, but I couldn't find nothin about it.

Please give me somethin links or hints obout this command !!!

Hello Oleg,

multilayer switches can change behaviour depending on how they allocate the Tcam tables.

use the following to verify the sdm in use

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/metro/me3400/software/release/12.2_46_se/configuration/guide/swsdm.html

if you are using layer-2 sdm routing is done via SW and this loads the cpu.

After changing the sdm mode you need to reload the swith to make the change effective.

note:

I didn't find the platform command in 12.2(46)SE command reference so I think you are meaning the sdm method

It was realy SDM configuration.

PS:However, the command "platform" really exists.
